Save Paper, Save Trees Initiative

Save Paper, Save Trees Initiative

This initiative is to remind all Davis Materialworks’ clients, partners, vendors & staffs to try not to print emails that is less necessary on paper.
If you really need to print do consider printing on recycle paper or un-used side of a printed or written paper.

Do You Know & You Need To Know?

> How many trees are cut down for a single sheet of paper? - Quora
“It would take a little more than half a tree to make a carton (10 reams) of 100 percent, non-recycled 20-lb. copier paper. One tree makes 16.67 reams of copy paper, or 8,333.3 sheets. One ream (500 sheets) uses 6 percent of a tree. ”

> Deforestation

“Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet. They produce vital oxygen and provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the world’s most threatened and endangered animals live in forests, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits forests offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter.”

> Chatham House
"One quarter of Singapore’s land area is covered by forests. The extent of these forests has remained unchanged over the period 1990 to 2015. Singapore is an important hub for the timber trade in the region, including the trade in illegal timber.”
